New Facebook page: "No More Ouimets"

Canadians who are upset at the half-million dollar payout to former integrity commissioner Christiane Ouimet now have a place to register their feelings. The whistleblower organization FAIR (Federal Accountability Initiative for Reform) has created a Facebook page entitled "No More Ouimets".

David Hutton, the creator of the page, says there are two main messages. The first message is 'We want our money back!'

"There's no possible justification for such largesse with our tax dollars," says Hutton, "especially when the recipient was under investigation for serious misconduct. The government should also sanction Ouimet to the full extent permitted by the law, for her non-performance and misconduct in office."

The second message is 'Fix this anti-corruption agency and make it work!'

"This fiasco reinforces the need for an agency to investigate and expose government misconduct – and to protect courageous whistleblowers who come forward. That's what the Office of the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner was supposed to do. The government must commit to rebuilding this agency and making it work, with new legislation and a new commissioner."

The Facebook page can be seen here:

Visitors can also send an email to Prime Minister Harper and the other party leaders.
