Fiesty reality lesson of why we are not politically correct

Here's to US!!!!

No matter what our kids and the new generation think about us,

WE ARE AWESOME !!!!

OUR LIFE IS LIVING PROOF !!!!

1930 - 1979

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE

1930's, 40's, 50's,

60's and 70's!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered

with bright colored lead-base paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes,

we had baseball caps

not helmets on our heads.

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.

Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight.. WHY?

B
ecause we were always outside playing...that's why!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on..

No one was able to reach us all day. And, we were OKAY.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps

and then ride them down the hill,

only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem

We did not have Play stations, Nintendo's and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's,

no surround-sound or CD's,

no cell phones,

no personal computers,

no Internet and no chat rooms.

WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

we fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We would get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping pong paddles, or just a bare hand and no one would call child services to report abuse.

We ate worms and mud pies

made from dirt, and

the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them.

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team.

Those who didn't had to learn

to deal with disappointment.

Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best

risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever.

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas..

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.

If YOU are one of them, CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.

While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave and lucky their parents were.

It makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it ?

~ The quote of the month is by

Jay Leno:

'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'

at prefer to think that God is not watching over us...go ahead and delete this.

For the rest of us...pass this on..

Keep this in mind  in the near future
Subject: TAX

THANK YOU DALTON MCGUINTY
A Boomer Wealth Coach Analysis
Was the Liberal Budget presented to Ontario on 26 March 2009, a tax grant or a tax grab? Depending on whose politics or what lobbyists, the answer will be GRANT! Or GRAB! .....  Or somewhere in between.

Our staff did something different. We read the Budget document, called the Ministry Office for details, and added up the numbers.  Then, we looked at the results as to how these proposals would affect the retired, or soon to be retired.  It tired us out!

Our Report follows.  We would encourage you to forward this Report to friends and family.

There is a very real need to plan for retirement comfort, even more so, with the proposals recently introduced.
THE TAX GRAB   8% more for NOTHING more
Seniors living in retirement enjoy a lifestyle different than the one they lived while at work.  In retirement, to be active, often means paying a fee, a membership, an admission, a subscription or for costs for travel, etc.

We have calculated that the impact of this Liberal Budget will be more costly for Ontario seniors, than anyone has reported.

Consider a retired couple, receiving total retirement income of $41,400 after tax per year*, healthy enough to enjoy some comfort in retirement.

Many of those items used on a daily basis will now be subject to an 8% cost increase, because of the new harmonized sales tax introduced by the Liberal government in this Budget.

Look at just a few of those items that will cost more, without getting more.
  • Cable TV:  if $60 monthly, yearly increase is $57.60 more.
  • Golf Fees:  if $1,500 yearly X 2, yearly increase is $240.00 more
  • Gym Membership:  if $35 month X 2, yearly increase is $67.20 more.
  • Hydro:  if $85 monthly, yearly increase is $81.60 more.
  • Haircuts:  if $450 X 2 annually, yearly increase is $72.00 more.
  • Heating Fuel:  if $800 annually, yearly increase is $64.00 more.
  • Internet:  If $65 monthly, yearly increase is $62.40 more.
  • Income Tax Prep. If cost is $150 X 2, yearly increase is $24.00 more.
  • Legal Fees:  for wills, P.Of A., advice, etc. Add 8%, $32 more.
  • London Knights tickets: 4 games X 2, yrly incr. Is $11.52 more   (note Senior Season Ticket $484 X 2, yearly increase is $77.4 4 more)
  • Magazine Subscription:  $25 annually X 4, increase is $8.00 more
  • Movie Tickets:  one per month X 2, yearly increase is $16.32 more
  • Newspapers Subscription: $20 monthly, yrly incr. Is $18.91 more
  • RRIF/RRSP**: $400,000 family savings, yrly incr. $1,040.00 more.
**This is a NEW HIDDEN TAX OF $52 per $20,000 on deposit, annually
  • Telephone: if $48 monthly, yearly increase is $46.08 more
  • Tim Hortons Coffee:  3 per week X 2, yrly increase is $41.18.
  • Toronto Theatre: 2 X $150 ticket, yrly increase $24.00
  • Vacation Travel: $450 airline ticket X 2, yrly increase $76.00 more
  • Veterinarian:  Beagle is Family!  Add $32.00 more.
  • Vitamins: $60 monthly X 2, yrly increase $115.20 more
Are you ready for the TAX KICK coming?
For just these listed items***

NEW TAXES OVER $2,100.00 MORE

Life's Crazy Rules
* Lerman's Law of Technology: Any technical problem can be overcome given enough time and money. Corollary: You are never given enough time or money.

* Murphy's First Law for Wives: If you ask your husband to pick up five items at the store and then you add one more as an afterthought, he will forget two of the first five.

* Law of the Search: The first place to look for anything is the last place you would expect to find it. Corollary: It will not be in the last place you expect to find it.

* Kauffman's Paradox of the Corporation: The less important you are to the corporation, the more your tardiness or absence is noticed.

* The Salary Axiom: The pay raise is just large enough to increase your taxes and just small enough to have no effect on your take-home pay.

* Miller's Law of Insurance: Insurance covers everything except what happens.

* First Law of Living: As soon as you start doing what you always wanted to be doing, you'll want to be doing something else.

* Weiner's Law of Libraries: There are no answers, only cross-references.

* Isaac's Strange Rule of Staleness: Any food that starts out hard will soften when stale. Any food that starts out soft will harden when stale.

* Kenny's Law of Auto Repair: The part requiring the most consistent repair or replacement will be housed in the most inaccessible location.

* Second Law of Business Meetings: If there are two possible ways to spell a person's name, you will pick the wrong one. Corollary - If there is only one way to spell a name, you will spell it wrong anyway.

* The Grocery Bag Law: The candy bar you planned to eat on the way home from the market is hidden at the bottom of the grocery bag.

* Yeager's Law: Washing machines break down only during the wash cycle. Corollary: All breakdowns occur on the plumber's day off.

* Lampner's Law of Employment: When leaving work late, you will go unnoticed. When you leave work early, you will meet the boss in the parking lot.

* Quile's Consultation Law: The job that pays the most will be offered when there is no time to deliver the services.

challenges -food for thought

RELEVANCE and Church attendance

So what is wrong? A scary thought is that we could be rapidly heading in the same direction as the church did in Great Britain a century or so ago. Then the great spiritual and missionary endeavors were coming out of their country. But today the church there is but a shadow of what it was. As one British rector (minister) poignantly said about the church in England: "The times changed, the people and their needs changed, but the church remained the same, and little by little it became irrelevant and lost its impact." Instead of looking at itself, the church then blamed the indifference of the people for their leaving in droves.

True, our message never changes but the application of it and our methods of presenting it must apply to the needs of today's generation—not yesterday's. Furthermore, we are NOT in the business of building churches with a little "c". We are in the business of saving people and making disciples.

Like the disciples and early Christians, when we do God's work in God's way for God's glory may it be said of today's Church: "And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved"

Politically correct

. Swimming Against the Tide

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."1 And as James says about a double-minded person: he is "unstable in all he does."2

Someone has explained how, in the frigid waters around Greenland, "Countless icebergs float around. Some are tiny; others tower skyward. At times the small ones move in one direction while their gigantic counterparts go in another. Why is this? The small ones are pushed around by the winds blowing on the surface of the water, but the huge ice masses are carried along by deep ocean currents."3

In our day there is great pressure to go with the crowd, to be politically correct, to do the convenient thing regardless whether it is right or ethical or not. The reality is, however, unless we have deep roots in God, we too can easily be swayed by the "popular winds of the moment" and be "double-minded and unstable in all we do."

Think of Jesus, he never worried about being politically correct, or pleasing the crowd or the religious leaders of his day, or even King Herod for that matter. His only concern was to do right and please God, his Father. He did right regardless of the consequences. For you and me to make a difference we, too, need to stand for truth and do right regardless of the consequences.

To do this we need backbone. As the saying goes, any dead fish can float down the river but it takes a live fish to swim against the flow. Furthermore, he who stands for nothing will fall for anything.

Fwd: When the sheriff is at the door

useful food for thought

How to Tap Your Inner Strength    Rabbi Harold S. Kushner

W e are bombarded with news reports of tragedies. Fires, floods and earthquakes make headlines as do the stories of people losing their homes, jobs and nest eggs due to the devastating turmoil in the financial world.

For help making sense of it all, Bottom Line/Personal spoke to Rabbi Harold S. Kushner, whose seminal book, When Bad Things Happen to Good People, has helped millions.
His wise and compassionate counsel on enduring tragedy... what to do about anger... and how to move forward...

GUT RESPONSE

Most of us go through life with the belief that the world should be predictable, fair and understandable. Then when we suffer a seemingly unendurable shock -- the death of a loved one... loss of a home to fire or flood... or financial devastation -- we feel lost.
The psychological blow may be a bigger problem for many people to overcome than the actual damage to property or physical health or other personal loss.

If victims are unwilling to relinquish the idea that the world is understandable, they feel a desperate need to make sense of what has happened. They respond to that need in different ways -- blaming, theologizing or philosophizing.

Blaming. Some people blame themselves and explain the disaster in terms of their own behavior ("I never should have put my money in stocks"). This approach leaves them feeling guilty... but with the consolation that they are not powerless in a world that is beyond their control.

Others spend their time looking to lay blame on others. Why were US banks allowed to run amok? Why wasn't there more government oversight?

Theologizing. Others reconcile themselves to what has happened through the theological belief that the world is run according to a good purpose -- but one that is too complicated for human beings to be able to explain all of the details at the time.

Example: Was this the wake-up call America needed to adequately address its financial shortfalls?
Some people try to hold on to that belief but lose it if they do not find a compensating good event occurring for each bad event that happens during the rest of their lives.

Philosophizing. A third way to react to disasters is to accept them philosophically as an unpredictable part of life. They may strike anyone at any time and cannot be explained rationally.

HELPING OTHERS

Regardless of their attempts to explain the disaster that has occurred, people have a remarkable capacity to go on with their lives and mobilize their inner strength to respond positively.
Examples: I once spoke to 5,000 people who gathered in East St. Louis to rebuild their city after a catastrophic flood. When asked to discuss the religious meaning of the flood, I told them it could be found in the way they all helped one another and in their willingness to work together to overcome the effects of the disaster.
On the morning after 9/11, New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani reported that there were too many volunteers at the disaster site. Meanwhile, blood donors lined the streets for blocks outside the city's trauma centers.
Human beings tend to demonstrate the spiritual power to transcend disaster both on a mass scale and as individuals. They do this when they band together to recover from earthquakes or floods and when they strive to carry on with family life while dealing with personal tragedies, such as brain-damaged children or parents with Alzheimer's.

WHY ME?

Those who cope effectively have a strong sense of self-esteem. When life deals them crushing blows, they tell themselves, I can get over it.
Conversely, people who have learned to think of themselves as "no good" regard disasters as justified punishment, and they lack the optimism to build a new life out of the ruins of the old.
Victims of disaster often ask, "Why me?" To respond effectively, you must understand that it is not really a question but a cry of pain.
Best: Reassure them by saying, "You are a good person... and what happened was not punishment for something you did." Disaster victims want consolation, not explanations or exhortations.

Don't tell them to stop complaining and get on with their lives.

Do show them that you care by hugging them and holding their hands.

Don't leave them feeling abandoned in their state of need.

Do sit with them quietly and show empathy.

Allow them to grieve for their loss at their own pace. After a serious trauma, people are entitled to at least one year of not being their normal selves. After a year, you might suggest therapy only if they are frustrated by the pace of their own recoveries, not because you are in a hurry to see them happy.

Be strong in your belief It worked for Job

1. No Fear! Yeah, Right!

"The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The
LORD is with me; he is my helper. I will look in triumph on my
enemies."1

The story is told about a baby bear "that wandered away from his
mother in search of food. This was his first foray; so he was a little
timid. A large, ferocious mountain lion spotted the baby bear and
approached to attack. The baby bear, not knowing what else to do,
reared up on his hind legs as he had seen his mother do this as a
defense. Immediately, the mountain cat retreated; ran like he was
scared to death. The baby bear, very proud of himself, continued
foraying for food. What the mountain lion saw, and the baby bear
didn't know, was that the mother bear was behind the baby bear,
rearing up on her hind legs, ready to attack the mountain lion."2

No fear! Yeah. Right! Breathed the man with soul so dead who never to
himself hath said, "I'm scared half to death." Fear is a common plight
of us all—unless we bury and hide it, which is a dangerous path to
follow for what we deny we inevitably act out in some self- or
other-destructive way. Someone has said that there are 365 "fear nots"
in the Bible—one for every day of the year!

David, who penned the words of today's Psalm had every reason on many
occasions to be terrified because King Saul, ravished by a jealous
hatred of David, was hunting him down to kill him. So whenever I am
afraid, I take a page out of David's book, and keep repeating to
remind myself, "The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can
man do to me?"

The good news is that God is with us … always … he will never leave us
or forsake us … hence to counteract our fears we can learn to place
our confidence in him and not in ourselves. It's important, too, not
to allow fears to control us for if we don't control (or resolve)
them, they will control us.

Brantford.com -: "Volunteer plea greets new Rotary president
Last Updated: Fri, 17 Jul 2009

BRANTFORD (BCN) - John McGraw, newly-elected Rotary Club of Brantford president, takes over the position just as the Brantford Air Show – one of the group’s fundraisers – has sent out a plea for more volunteer help. McGraw has been active in the club for 23 years and has helped with the Brantford Classic Run, Lobsterfest and Rotary Youth Exchange. This is the first year the Rotary Club has been chief sponsor of the air show, and organizer Gary Surette says volunteers can contact him about the September 2 event through its website . The Rotary Club is also involved in another new fundraising venture, Clowns for Kids, which last year raised $30,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Brantford."

: Excellent letter! on being a real Canadian !

As a born german -I am a proud Canadian and believe that this is a good letter . Stop the political correctness. expensive nonsense which devalues our country values.

Canadians -time to get our country back

"Ships in the harbour are safe, but that's not what ships are built for." William Shedd

A Letter to the Editor (excellent letter)

So many letter writers have explained how this land is made up of immigrants.
Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people why today's Canadian
is not willing to accept the new kind of immigrant any longer.

Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to Canada,
people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in Halifax and be documented.
Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground.
They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times.
They made learning English a primary rule in their new Canadian households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home. They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in
their power to help their children assimilate into one culture.

Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labour laws to protect them. All they had were the skills, craftsmanship and desire they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.

Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out.
Canadians fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France, Japan, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Sweden, Poland and so many other places.
None of these first generation Canadians ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Canadians fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the
Emperor of Japan. They were defending the Freedom as one people.
When we liberated France, no-one in those villages was looking for the
Ukrainian-Canadian or the German-Canadian or the Irish-Canadian.
The people of France saw only Canadians.

And we carried one flag that represented our country.
Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up
another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would
have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here.
These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be a Canadian.
They stirred the melting pot into one red and white bowl.

And here we are in 2009 with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges.
Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes a Canadian passport and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country.

I'm sorry, that's not what being a Canadian is all about. Canadians have been very open-hearted and open-minded regarding immigrants, whether they were fleeing poverty, dictatorship,
persecution, or whatever else makes us think of those aforementioned immigrants who truly did ADOPT our country, and our flag and our morals and our customs. And left their wars, hatred, and divisions behind. I believe that the immigrants who landed in Canada in the early 1900s deserve better than that for the toil, hard work and sacrifice those legally searching for a better life.
I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags, fighting foreign battles on our soil, making Canadians change to suit their religions and cultures, and wanting to change our countries fabric by claiming discrimination when we do not give in to their demands.

knights are winners

Winners Vs. Losers

"According to your faith will it be done to you."1

A winner sees an opportunity in every risk while a loser sees a risk in every opportunity. Winners know that to risk nothing is to risk everything. They know that if they are going to win, they have to be willing to try, to take chances, and to risk failure. They have to be willing to strike out if they are going to hit home runs.

The year Babe Ruth broke the world record for hitting the most home runs in baseball he also broke the world's record for the most strikeouts!

The point is if I am going to hit home runs, I have to be in the game, stand at the plate and keep swinging. Sooner or later, if I practice hard and do my best, I will hit a home run.

As somebody else has said, "To try when there is little hope is to risk failure. Not to try at all is to guarantee it."

Some people think that success comes to those who are lucky. Luck, if you want to call it that, comes when preparation meets opportunity.

True winners make sure their goals are in harmony with God's will and because of this, know that with his help there is a way to achieve them. Furthermore, they believe in their cause and they believe in themselves in a healthy way. They know that God never calls or expects anyone to do anything that can't be done. Therefore, they expect to win and believe they will—and work hard to make it happen. They know that "the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary."

They also know that if they tried and did their best already they have won.

Food for thought - Let's reinvent ourselves by being people centered

1. People vs. Program Centered

"Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard thatJesus was going by, they shouted, 'Lord, Son of David, have mercy onus'… Jesus stopped and called them [the two blind men]. 'What do you want me to do for you?' he asked."1

I recall having read how, in the 1940s, 80 percent of all watches soldwere made in Switzerland. In the late 1950s the digital watch waspresented to them, but they rejected it because they already had thebest watches and the best watchmakers. The man who developed itsubsequently sold his idea to Seiko—and the rest is history!

In 1940 Swiss watch companies employed 80,000 people. Today, theyemploy 18,000. In 1840 they made 80 percent of all watches sold.Today, they make 20 percent—and the majority are digital! This storydemonstrates what happens when an organization or an individualchooses to die or fade away rather than change.

While in the church our message of God's love and his great gift ofsalvation never changes, our methods of ministry and communicatingthis message need to change with the changing times and the changingneeds of people. What worked yesteryear may no longer work today. Andif our methods no longer work, we need to discard them. Becomingproduct, method, or program oriented instead of being people orientedspells death to any ministry, organization, or business.

When Jesus came, he cut right across the grain of man-made religiousdogma, programs, and traditions that were not relevant to the needs ofthe people of his day.

In his ministry he was always sensitive to the felt or perceived needs of his listeners and targeted his ministry to address those needs. As illustrated in his encounter with the two blind men his question was,"What do you want me to do for you?" To which they replied, "That we may receive our sight." Before meeting people's spiritual need, Jesus always ministered to an individual's personal and felt need. For us to do less is being less than Christ-like.

Indifference kills the faithul food for thought

The Devil's Nephew

"The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."1

In the book The Screwtape Letters, by C. S. Lewis, a devil briefs his demon nephew, Wormwood, in the subtleties and techniques of tempting people. Through the letters the devil says that the objective is not to make people wicked but to make them indifferent. Satan cautions Wormwood that he must keep the patient comfortable at all costs. If he should start thinking about anything of importance, encourage him to think about his luncheon plans and not to worry so much because it could cause indigestion.

And then the devil gives this instruction to his nephew: "I, the devil, will always see to it that there are bad people. Your job, my dear Wormwood, is to provide me with people who do not care."2

And perhaps, just perhaps, Wormwood is having profound success among far too many Christians in the West today, for only a small percentage give of their time, their talents, and their tithe to God for his work on earth—and even fewer give or do anything for world missions and for reaching the lost around the world with the saving gospel message of Jesus Christ.

And so the devil is still delighted with the work of Wormwood.

The prize doesn't always go to the most deserving! It goes to those who want to push the agenda.   See below and you will see why:*

Irena Sendler

There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto,as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.  She had an ' ulterior motive ' ...  She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German.) Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids.) She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.  The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.  During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.  She was caught and the Nazi ' s broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.  Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar,  buried under a tree in her back yard.  After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.  Most of course had been gassed.  Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ... She was not selected.

LET'S SEND THIS ONE AROUND THE WORLD!!!!!!!!

GOD BLESS HER    May she rest in Peace.

Good news- testing the earthquake in Italy

Pope's bones survive earthquake

The bones of one of the Catholic Church's most enigmatic popes survived the Italian earthquake and were taken Thursday from the church where he was buried.

St. Celestine V's bones will be stored safely while the Basilica di Collemaggio in L'Aquila, which was damaged in the quake, is repaired, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.

''It's another great miracle by the pope,'' said Fabio Carapezza Guttuso, head of the country's Heritage Security Commission, of the survival of Celestine's earthly remains.

Celestine, the last pontiff not chosen by a conclave, was proclaimed pope in 1294 in L'Aquila. Five months later, he resigned his office.

The pope hoped to spend the rest of his life as a hermit. His successor, Boniface VIII, instead imprisoned him in a castle where he died within a year, ANSA reported.

The poet Dante, who despised Boniface, blamed Celestine in "The Inferno" for his "great refusal" of responsibility. But Celestine has been admired by many for his virtue.

Happy Easter - remember it is important to have the right attitude-christ's weakness (death) became his greatest strength

. The Power of Attitude

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might."1

I have read how William Wilberforce (who became an evangelical Christian) was a diminutive man and never enjoyed good health. For twenty years he was under doctor's orders and had to take drugs to keep body and soul together. Yet he stopped the British slave trade. Boswell once went to hear him speak and said afterward: "I saw what seemed a mere shrimp mounted upon the platform, but as I listened, he grew and grew till the shrimp became a whale."

The interesting thing is that so many successes in history have been achieved by people who have either been limited by some kind of handicap or have suffered a major setback or failure of one kind or another.

It's one's attitude in life that makes the difference. No matter what happens to us, with a positive attitude we can rise above our difficulties and achieve notable things with our life.

By having a positive attitude I don't mean the denial of reality, but rather to be a positive realist. For instance, if I have been hit by a truck, all the positive thinking in the world won't take away the pain. To be a positive realist means that I admit that I have been hit and hurt real bad—but with God's help, and that of the medical profession and the support of loving friends, I will recover to the fullest possible extent and turn this experience into another blessing.

As another has said, "Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst … a spark that creates extraordinary results."

What is Easter really about- least we forget

THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS

At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to the death penalty.

That was then the 'worst' death. Only the worst criminals could die like Jesus.
And with Jesus things were worse because not all the criminals condemned to death could receive nails on their hands and feet.

Of course nails... Big nails! Each was 15 x 20 cm long, with a point of 6 cm. Another point was sharp.

The nails were carved into the pulses (wrists), and not into the palms, as we are used to hearing... In the pulse there's a tendon which extends to the shoulder and when the nails were being hammered that tendon broke, obliging Jesus to reinforce all the muscles of his back, so that he could breath as He was losing all the air from his lungs.

In this way, He was forced to support Himself onto the nail carved into his feet, which was bigger than those carved into his pulses, for both feet were carved together. And, as his feet could not endure for a long time without tearing, Jesus was forced to alternate that 'cycle' so that He could breath.

Jesus endured that reality over 3 hours.

Yes, over 3 hours! Long time, isn't it? A few minutes before He died, Jesus was not bleeding anymore.

He was simply pouring water from his cuts and holes.

When we imagine Him injured, we only picture Him with injuries, but it is not enough; His wounds were true holes, made into his body.

He had no more blood to bleed, He only poured water.

Human body is composed of nearly 3.5 liters of blood (for an adult).

Jesus poured out all 3.5 liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into his members; a crown of thorns on his head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier who shoved a spear into his side.

All this without mentioning the humiliation He passed after carrying his own cross for almost 2 km, while the crowd spat on his face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, only for its higher part, where his hands were nailed).

Jesus had to pass all this experience, so that you can have free access to God.

So that your sins could be 'washed' away. All of them, with no exception! Don't ignore this situation. HE DIED FOR YOU!. For you, who now read this e-mail. Do not believe that He only died for others (those who go to church or for pastors, bishops, etc).

He died for you! It is easy to pass jokes or foolish photos by e-mail, but when it comes to God, sometimes you feel ashamed to forward to others because you are worried about what they may think about your morals.

Accept the reality, the truth that JESUS IS THE ONLY SALVATION FOR THE WORLD.

God has plans for you, show all your friends what He experienced to save you. Now think on this! May God bless your life!

60 seconds with God...

During 60 seconds, leave whatever you're doing and seize this opportunity! Let's see if satan can stop this.

All you have to do is:

1. Simply pray for the person who sent this message to you: Lord, you know better than I the life of _________. I ask You to bless him/her in all realms and make him/her prosperous. Take care of his/her family, his/her health, his/her work and all his/her plans for this year. Lead him/her not into temptation, but deliver him/her from evil. In Jesus' name, amen.

2.Then, send this message to 10 people.

3. Once, 10 people will pray for you and you will make that many people pray to God for other people.

4. Think a moment and appreciate the power of God in your life, for doing what pleases Him.

If you are not ashamed in doing this, please, follow Jesus' instructions. He said (Matthew 10:33): 'But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven'.

If you are not ashamed, send this message... Only if you believe in Him.

Yes, I love God. He is my source of life and my Saviour. He keeps me alive day and night..

Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him 'I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me'. Philippians 4:13.

This is the simpl
e proof. If you love God and you are not ashamed for all things He has done for you, send this to all those you love.
