We must have sustainable relationships by maintaining an emotional balance through the protection of spiritual resources, like love, faith, hope and peace.,

A lan Darlington's new environmental design is turning competitors green, and not just with envy.

A plant biologist who began working on his radical idea at the University of Guelph, Darlington now runs a company specializing in living walls -- walls comprised entirely of plants that play a key role in improving the indoor environment. Though walls made up entirely of greenery have been around for years, Darlington's are different.

A case in point is the one his company built at St. Mary's University in Halifax, one of the biggest living walls in the world. Three storeys high and incorporating more than 1,100 plants, the project is hailed as a combination of science, art and engineering, it not only looks great, it's a vital part of the building's air-handling system.
The wall actually sucks air through the wall and into the building's ventilation system. That's important because the air gets into the roots of the plants where microbes break down contaminants and clean the air of impurities. Though mechanical air purifiers can do the same thing, their filters eventually fill up and become toxic, a problem not shared by the plants in a living wall.
Living walls also save money on winter heating. With a conventional purifying system, the new air brought into a building to replace old air must be heated, whereas the plants in a living wall merely clean the existing warm air and recirculate it. No new air from outside is needed, which cuts heating costs by up to 30%.
Along with being easy on the eye, living walls help muffle interior sound; aid relaxation and alleviate stress; change carbon dioxide into oxygen, which is healthier for all of us; and they reduce overall temperatures in buildings, which cuts energy consumption. Popular plants include clematis, hydrangeas and wisteria. Living walls are popular on university campuses and other public buildings like city halls and hospitals. They're starting to show up in churches, too.
How symbolic. Wherever we gather to share our lives in community, the real walls -- the things that give us definition, shelter and support -- are our relationships. What counts is not lathe and plaster but love and people. All of us, when brought together in the family of God, comprise the living walls of the church.
As such, our relationships must be vital and dynamic, improving the environment in which we find ourselves and enhancing the quality of life around us.

Food for thought - Let's reinvent ourselves by being people centered

1. People vs. Program Centered

"Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard thatJesus was going by, they shouted, 'Lord, Son of David, have mercy onus'… Jesus stopped and called them [the two blind men]. 'What do you want me to do for you?' he asked."1

I recall having read how, in the 1940s, 80 percent of all watches soldwere made in Switzerland. In the late 1950s the digital watch waspresented to them, but they rejected it because they already had thebest watches and the best watchmakers. The man who developed itsubsequently sold his idea to Seiko—and the rest is history!

In 1940 Swiss watch companies employed 80,000 people. Today, theyemploy 18,000. In 1840 they made 80 percent of all watches sold.Today, they make 20 percent—and the majority are digital! This storydemonstrates what happens when an organization or an individualchooses to die or fade away rather than change.

While in the church our message of God's love and his great gift ofsalvation never changes, our methods of ministry and communicatingthis message need to change with the changing times and the changingneeds of people. What worked yesteryear may no longer work today. Andif our methods no longer work, we need to discard them. Becomingproduct, method, or program oriented instead of being people orientedspells death to any ministry, organization, or business.

When Jesus came, he cut right across the grain of man-made religiousdogma, programs, and traditions that were not relevant to the needs ofthe people of his day.

In his ministry he was always sensitive to the felt or perceived needs of his listeners and targeted his ministry to address those needs. As illustrated in his encounter with the two blind men his question was,"What do you want me to do for you?" To which they replied, "That we may receive our sight." Before meeting people's spiritual need, Jesus always ministered to an individual's personal and felt need. For us to do less is being less than Christ-like.

What is Easter really about- least we forget

THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to the death penalty. That was then the 'worst' death. Only the worst criminals could die like Jesus. And with Jesus things were worse because not all the criminals condemned to death could receive nails on their hands and feet. Of course nails... Big nails! Each was 15 x 20 cm long, with a point of 6 cm. Another point was sharp. The nails were carved into the pulses (wrists), and not into the palms, as we are used to hearing... In the pulse there's a tendon which extends to the shoulder and when the nails were being hammered that tendon broke, obliging Jesus to reinforce all the muscles of his back, so that he could breath as He was losing all the air from his lungs. In this way, He was forced to support Himself onto the nail carved into his feet, which was bigger than those carved into his pulses, for both feet were carved together. And, as his feet could not endure for a long time without tearing, Jesus was forced to alternate that 'cycle' so that He could breath. Jesus endured that reality over 3 hours. Yes, over 3 hours! Long time, isn't it? A few minutes before He died, Jesus was not bleeding anymore. He was simply pouring water from his cuts and holes. When we imagine Him injured, we only picture Him with injuries, but it is not enough; His wounds were true holes, made into his body. He had no more blood to bleed, He only poured water. Human body is composed of nearly 3.5 liters of blood (for an adult). Jesus poured out all 3.5 liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into his members; a crown of thorns on his head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier who shoved a spear into his side. All this without mentioning the humiliation He passed after carrying his own cross for almost 2 km, while the crowd spat on his face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, only for its higher part, where his hands were nailed). Jesus had to pass all this experience, so that you can have free access to God. So that your sins could be 'washed' away. All of them, with no exception! Don't ignore this situation. HE DIED FOR YOU!. For you, who now read this e-mail. Do not believe that He only died for others (those who go to church or for pastors, bishops, etc). He died for you! It is easy to pass jokes or foolish photos by e-mail, but when it comes to God, sometimes you feel ashamed to forward to others because you are worried about what they may think about your morals. Accept the reality, the truth that JESUS IS THE ONLY SALVATION FOR THE WORLD. God has plans for you, show all your friends what He experienced to save you. Now think on this! May God bless your life! 60 seconds with God... During 60 seconds, leave whatever you're doing and seize this opportunity! Let's see if satan can stop this. All you have to do is: 1. Simply pray for the person who sent this message to you: Lord, you know better than I the life of _________. I ask You to bless him/her in all realms and make him/her prosperous. Take care of his/her family, his/her health, his/her work and all his/her plans for this year. Lead him/her not into temptation, but deliver him/her from evil. In Jesus' name, amen. 2.Then, send this message to 10 people. 3. Once, 10 people will pray for you and you will make that many people pray to God for other people. 4. Think a moment and appreciate the power of God in your life, for doing what pleases Him. If you are not ashamed in doing this, please, follow Jesus' instructions. He said (Matthew 10:33): 'But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven'. If you are not ashamed, send this message... Only if you believe in Him. Yes, I love God. He is my source of life and my Saviour. He keeps me alive day and night.. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him 'I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me'. Philippians 4:13. This is the simple proof. If you love God and you are not ashamed for all things He has done for you, send this to all those you love.
