22,000 more donor appointment bookings needed this holiday season
Donors needed now to bolster blood reserves for hospital patients

Why? Where? | Between December 13 and January 2, Canadian Blood Services will need 22,000 more donors to book appointments. Regionally, we need 3,275 more appointments booked At all clinics |
o We need more people including employees, volunteers, friends and family, to book appointments this holiday season to donate blood particularly the weeks before and after Christmas.
o Between December 13 and January 2, Canadian Blood Services will need to collect close to 50,000 units of blood to meet the needs of hospitals.
o Canadian Blood Services needs 22,000 more donors to book appointments to meet this goal. In Southern Ontario, we are 3,275 appointments short.
o We are able to draw on our national inventory reserves if needed, and although at this time our inventory is healthy at the moment, we want to be proactive to ensure hospitals receive the blood and blood products needed during the challenging weeks before and after Christmas.
o Please encourage your friends and family to donate at a clinic this month.
