The bigger the lie the more they believe - is it the season of false promises

Making informed decisions - with free will and facts

Elections are comming and you have a need to know the true facts

Politicians, promoters, and radicals all know that if you keep repeating the "product or line" you are wanting to promote—even when it is blatantly false—if you say it often enough, loud enough, intense enough, and for long enough, not only do you end up believing your own lies, but lots of gullible people believe them too. It becomes a case of: "Don't confuse me with the facts. My mind is made up!"

The bottom line is that many people see what they want to see, hear what they want to hear, and believe what they want to believe—what is the most convenient for them—and with some fancy "footwork" manufacture a story in a vain attempt to justify their stance. And the more defensive they become when challenged, the more evident it becomes that they are promoting or believing a lie. Shakespeare said it well: "Me thinks he doth protest too much."

Just think how we've been sold a bill of goods on free sex (which is never free), accepting homosexuality as a norm (which is opposed to the norm), gay marriage (an oxymoron if ever there were one), abortion on demand … line upon line, little by little, all of these issues have been accepted by vast numbers because they have been promoted over and over and over ad infinitum.

Let us remember that repetition does not guarantee reality. And the greatest defense we have against lies is to know the truth and the facts ;

Squeeze the lemon to get the facts before you make a decision

Re: Fw: "Pray if you want to"

Thank for sharing your thoughts and comments

Subject: "Pray and rights of the  not so silent majority? Pass it on please

Everyone has rights -right

Pray if  you want to!

CBS and  Katie Couric et al must be in a panic and  rushing to reassure the White House that this is  not network policy.

Folks,  this is the year that we RE-TAKE AMERICA &  CANADA
*********  Get  Ready *********

Keep  this going around the  globe.
Read it  and forward every time you receive  it...
We can't  give up on this issue.

Andy Rooney  and  Prayer

Andy  Rooney says:

I don't believe in Santa  Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for  singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in  December.
I don't  agree with Darwin , but I didn't go out and hire  a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his  theory  of evolution.

Life, liberty or your pursuit of  happiness will not be endangered in any  way because  someone says a 30-second prayer before a  football game.

So what's  the big deal?

It's not  like somebody is up there reading the entire  Book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they  believe in and asking him to grant safety to the  players on the field and the fans going home  from the game.

But it's a Christian  prayer, some will argue.

Yes, and this is  the United States of America , and Canada ,  countries founded on Christian  principles. According  to our very own phone book, Christian churches  outnumber all others better than  200-to-1.
So what  would you expect --
Somebody  chanting Hare  Krishna?

If I went to a football game in  Jerusalem ,
I would  expect to hear a Jewish  prayer.

If  I went to a soccer game  in Baghdad,
I would  expect to hear a Muslim prayer.

If I  went to a ping pong match in China  ,
I would  expect to hear someone pray to  Buddha.

And I  wouldn't be offended. It  wouldn't bother me one bit.

When in Rome  .....

But what about the atheists? Is  another argument.

What about  them?

Nobody is  asking them to be baptized.  We're not  going to pass the collection plate. Just humor  us for 30 seconds.  If that's asking too  much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear  plugs.  Go to the bathroom.  Visit the  concession stand.  Call your lawyer! Or,  just exercise their right to leave this  country!

Unfortunately, one or two will  call their lawyer.
One or two  will tell thousands what they can and cannot  do.  I don't  think a short prayer at a football game is going  to shake the world's  foundations.

Christians are just sick and  tired of turning the other cheek while our  courts strip us of all our  rights.
Our  parents and grandparents taught us to pray  before eating, to pray before we go to  sleep.
Our Bible  tells us to pray without  ceasing.
Now a  handful of people and their lawyers are telling  us to cease praying.

God,  help us.  And if that last sentence offends  you, well, just sue me.

The silent  majority has been silent too long.  It's  time we tell that one or two who scream loud  enough to be heard that the vast majority  doesn't care what they want!

It is  time that the majority  rules!

It's time we tell them, "You don't have to pray;  you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance;  you don't have to believe in God or attend  services that honor  Him.
That  is your right, and we will honor your  right;
But  by golly,
You  are no longer going to take our rights  away.
   We are fighting back, and
we  WILL WIN!"

God  bless us one and all...Especially those who  denounce Him,  God bless America and Canada , despite all our  faults, we are still the greatest nations of  all.
God  bless our service men who
Are  fighting to protect our right to pray and  worship God.

Let's  make 2012 and 2013  the  years the silent majority is heard and we put God  back as the foundation of our families and  institutions. And our military forces come home  from all the wars.

Keep looking  up.

If you agree with  this, please pass it on.
If not delete  it.

BUT  REMEMBER SHOULD YOU DELETE  IT,

that's  one reason why this world is in the mess we're  in now.

WE  JUST SIT  BACK & LET IT  HAPPEN!!

Remembrance day -a tribute and : prayer for troops

Least we forget

It is coming to that time of year when we honour our troops past and present.  They have and do put themselves in harms way so that we may live free.

Please take a moment to read and say a prayer for all troops from different countries fighting for freedom.

LOVE  & PEACE  IN 2013

I  AM HONOURED TO DO THIS

I   AM  HONOURED TO DO  THIS!!
Did   you know that the ACLU  has filed a suit to  have all  military cross-shaped headstones  removed
.

And   another suit to end  prayer from the  military completely.  They're making  great  progress. The Navy Chaplains can  no  longer mention Jesus' name in   prayer thanks to the  wretched ACLU and our  new administration.

Let   us pray...

Prayer

 Prayer:

'Lord   Jesus, hold  our troops in your loving  hands Protect them  as they protect us  bless them and their families for the   selfless acts they perform  for us in our  time of need.   Amen.'

These  Colours Don't Run

Prayer   Request:  When you  receive this,  please stop for a moment and say  a prayer  for our troops around the world.
There is  nothing  attached. Of all  the  gifts you could give a Marine,  Soldier, Sailor, Pilots,  & others  deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very   best one.

GOD   BLESS YOU FOR SAYING THE PRAYER AND PASSING  IT  ON!

Fwd: Make an emergency preparedness kit- Canadian Red Cross

With natural or man made disasters -it is always good to be ready -this is useful information on how to  protect yourself family and friends -pass it on please

From Evernote:

Make an emergency preparedness kit- Canadian Red Cross

Clipped from: http://www.redcross.ca/article.asp?id=033847&tid=001

Are you ready?

|

Make an emergency preparedness kit

To  meet your needs at home or if evacuating

The Red Cross recommends that you keep a disaster preparedness kit in your home with enough supplies to meet your family's needs for at least 72 hours. By taking some time now to store emergency food, water and other supplies, you can provide for your entire family.

Store these supplies together in sturdy, easy-to-carry containers such as suitcases on wheels or backpacks in case you need to evacuate your home:

  • Water: During an emergency, tap water can become polluted or supply may be cut off. Store two litres of drinking water and two litres of water for washing per person, per day, keeping a 72 hour supply on hand for your family and any pets. Listen to public announcements about treating the water in your area after a disaster. Once per year, make use of your water supply and add fresh water to your kit.
  • Food: Store at least a 72 hour supply of non-perishable food for each person. Select foods that are compact and lightweight, non-perishable and require no refrigeration, cooking, preparation or added water. Once per year, check the expiration dates of your food items. Ensure that there is enough for each member of your family.
  • Manual can opener
  • Crank or battery-operated flashlight, with extra batteries
  • Crank or battery-operated radio, with extra batteries
  • Extra keys, for house and car
  • First aid kit
  • Cash in small bills
  • Special needs items - medications, baby formula and diapers, and equipment for people with disabilities. Learn more about plans for people with disabilities.
  • Copy of your emergency plan

Additional items to consider

  • Change of clothing and footwear for each person
  • Sleeping bag or warm blanket for each person
  • Pet food and pet medication
  • Garbage bags and twist ties
  • Toilet paper
  • Multi-tool or basic tools (hammer, wrench, screwdriver, etc.)
  • Duct tape
  • Plastic sheeting
  • Scissors or pocket knife
  • Whistle
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Important family documents (copies of birth and marriage certificates, passports, licenses, wills, land deeds and insurance)

Buy a kit
The Canadian Red Cross has developed a comprehensive disaster preparedness kit to take the guess-work out of being ready from short-term power outages to major disasters. This is a great kit to help you get started. Add your own items to make it more personal for you and your family. For suggested items, see our Additional Items list.

Solar power
Solar is a good back up to power outages

Vehicle emergency preparedness kit
A vehicle emergency preparedness kit is an important part of winter safety in Canada. Severe storms can happen at any time. Be prepared to help yourself and your family if you are ever stuck in your vehicle for an extended period of time. Learn more about items to include in your vehicle kit

You Make the Difference – Support Canadians Affected by Disasters
From house fires to forest fires, hurricanes to floods, the Canadian Red Cross is there for more than 20,000 Canadians who are affected by disasters each year. Please donate to the Canadian Red Cross Fund.

Re: One Member, Per Council, Per Month

A worthy call to action -brother knights

MAKE A DIFFERENCE
On Wed, Oct 17, 2012 at 2:20 PM, Knights of Columbus <noreply@kofc.org> wrote:
Worthy Grand Knight:

As you know a council's good works and charitable activities are a key to its success. The more events or wider outreach a council has each year in its parish and community, the more lives it touches, the more members it keeps engaged, and the more prospective members it attracts. As you are aware, our Knights of Columbus activities and programs fall into six categories: Church, Community, Council, Culture of Life, Family and Youth. Every community has needs, and Knights of Columbus councils should help address those needs. One reason that we have asked every council to recruit one new member per month is each new member will be a new source of ideas and another volunteer to help others. Every new member increases the resources available to council in its charitable outreach: more food and clothing collected for needy families, more successful charitable fund-raisers, and more people whose lives are improved.

For generations, Knights of Columbus have served their communities. The efforts of council members united in charity and fraternity are a testament to our Catholic faith. This is how charity evangelizes, which is our mission and way of life.

Here are some reminders of the important upcoming events that we hope your council is involved in hosting:

October 20-21
:  Orderwide membership drive in honor of council chaplains: This is a time to be visible in the parish and invite potential members to join our Order. Be sure to order materials and conduct an open house.

October 22-28
: Orderwide First Degree Ceremonials: Welcome new members and make it convenient for interested candidates to join the Order.

November 24-25
: Orderwide Corporate Communion Weekends: Invite all council members to attend Mass and received Communion as a group during the Solemnity of Christ the King. Sponsor a social event for the entire parish following the Mass.

Guide your council to be a Star Council or Double Star Council this fraternal year. It will be a great  accomplishment for both you and your council. It's easy to do using the Power of One, or link directly to: www.kofc.org/recruit1.

Has your Council recruited ONE MEMBER PER COUNCIL PER MONTH?

Inspirational thought-Make everyone welcome by reaching out

When You Feel InsecurePortrait by Gary james (Brantford Artist)

"A new command I [Jesus] give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."1

Do you ever walk into a room full of strangers with the sense that you are the only one who feels insecure? The fact is that others, at least some of them in that room, probably feel the same way, especially if they are also strangers to the group. Feelings of insecurity are part of the human condition because we are all wounded in some way to some degree.

We visited a new church on one occasion where nobody bothered to talk to or welcome us, so I decided to talk to others and welcome them. "It's good to have you here at church today," I said and asked, "are you a member?" In fact, just this last Sunday morning after church I saw a man standing alone, so I specifically went to speak to him and help make him feel welcome. He turned out to be a first-time visitor. A little later this same man sought me out to thank me for talking to him, and told me that I was the only person that bothered to stop and speak to him.

So, when in a group of strangers, talk to a person who may be standing alone and ask him/her about him/herself. This will get you out of yourself and in time you will feel much better about yourself. I'm not suggesting that we be phony, but sometimes we just need to acknowledge our fear, but don't allow it to control us or hold us back from doing the right thing.

If we keep reaching out to others with a sincere motive and do the loving thing, in time this will help us to become more secure ourselves. It may be a challenge at first, but it is what Christ commanded us to do. That is, to love one another. One way to do this is to reach out to a stranger in your midst who is all alone.
