Shelter sees increased use - Brantford Expositor - Ontario, CA


The money was used to fund Kopczyk's salary and to offset some overhead costs.
The Yes Church has opened its doors to the program for four years. The floor in a wing on the lower level of the church is lined with mattresses covered with sheets and blankets. Drinks and snacks are provided and people are directed to various food programs operating in the city.
"It's not fancy, that's for sure," said Kopczyk of the shelter.
More than 70 people, many of them from the Yes Church, Followers of Christ Church, and Hope Christian Reformed Church, volunteered to set up registration tables, make beds, distribute snacks and clean up each morning.
